The tensioner isn't that strong IMO.

Company23 tools are super helpful for installing these and a must have for shops. At the same time, for a manual car, they are not necessary. For the auto customers it would be a good idea to have these tools, but I have installed them before using the small port on the engine (behind the manifold) and a pry bar. That is an easy way to do it for those who do not have the tools. Thanks again for the awesome post and pics! |

Buy the tool, don't scratch up the pulley.

Has anyone found out for sure the stock FRS pulley is heavier than the BRZ?

FRS and BRZ shared the same engine so the pulley must be the same.
The idea of the lighter weight pulley makes 100% sense. As long as it doesn't lose hp and increasing engine response, that's all it matters to me ! |

![]() BTW the pulley really is easy to install. Follow the instructions and you can't go wrong. Although the picture they supply is for an FB engine so the pulleys don't all match up. And it doesn't specifically state this but when removing tension you don't loosen the 14mm bolt on the auto tensioner. You are just using the 14mm socket and breaker bar as leverage to push down on it. It's an idiot proof design and it went over my head
