Reimax Oil Pump Kit
A bit disappointed here. Bought it from CSG. Took the kit and timing cover to the machine shop and 1st thing, no instructions with it. OK I agree it's pretty self explanatory what needs to be done. Next day my machinist calls and asks what kind of sealant, RTV, or what ever do I want used on the spacer and cover. I don't know? Also asks if I want new longer screws, I don't know? Instructions would have been nice. So I call CSG, and leave a message, and I e-mailed David at CSG, So far after several days he has not replied to either phone message or e-mail. I think for spending $500 it would be nice to get some instructions and would be nice to have messages replied to and questions answered.
Anyone here using this Kit and did you use ant gasket material on the spacer plate? Last edited by Lunatic; 04-12-2018 at 10:00 PM. |

It's an oil pump gear... you just put it in and the rest is all oil film.
I recommend you have it professionally installed if you are unable to get it done yourself. If you purchased the large gear, your engine builder should know what's needed; you have to machine off 2mm. |

So no RTV and any kind of gasket compound on the spacer plate. Correct?
Yes, it was professionally machined and installed. The machinist took off the same thickness and the spacer plate. |

The fitment should be dead on in that case. No sealant is to be used.
