Has this person ever taken a trip with a female companion? I can pack for a week in a shopping bag. I've never travelled with a woman that didn't need at least two suitcases for a weekend trip.

Ok, here is my work rant for the day.
I get called into a one hour long meeting. There are 10 others; 3 consultants and 7 executive managers. The issue is to automate the process of sending the monthly budget change files from the budget system to the General Ledger each month. They inform me that the Board of Directors (elected officials) have declared that we need to automate all manual process. I say, "even if it makes no sense to do so?"
The current manual process has stayed a manual process because it is random each month when the files are ready, and really cannot be scheduled. And the bigger part is the manual process I built takes 6 mouse clicks, and about 40 seconds to complete, and is simple and can be done by an accountant assistant or account clerk. I would have automated it years ago if it made sense to do so.a

So I say, " So the current process takes 40 seconds, let's pad it and say 2 minutes, so 24 minutes a year, hell let's just call it 30, times the cost of an accountant assistant, that puts the total annual cost of the process at about $12.50. So we have already spent one hour of 11 people in this room, so 11 man hours at a cost I figure of about $1,800.00 to solve this annual 30 minute $12.50 problem. So we have already spent enough time to do the manual process for 22 years, and enough taxpayer money to do it for 144 years. How does this make sense?"
The budget manager starts laughing, my bosses head is about to pop off. This is one reason why my boss avoids me and doesn’t involve me in new projects. I'm too logical.

The merit of automation is not to make somebody's life easier first, but foremost to avoid costly mistakes thereby dumbing down the carbon unit to being a tard.

in this case it already is an automated process, it's just who kicks it off, carbon unit or machine. I guess the only error the carbon unit could make is not doing it.

Dude, if this pisses you off then the automotive business would make you want to put a gun in your mouth!
