Issues Thread Paranoia

Am I the only one who goes to the issues thread, reads like 3 threads then goes outside sits at my car for 5 mins while it idles, checks all fluids 4 times and then proceeds to drive like a granny for the next 2 weeks

Having a 2013 with only 31k on it, it's the 60K mile engine failures that really concern me.

As I approach 50k in these next coming up months it does as well. I have a 2013 with the updated headunit touchscreen though, so im under the assumption mine was one of the later ones off the line. Fingers crossed I suppose LOL

We should start a thread called FA20 Roulette where we guess the fate of our engines.

My engine will explode one day.

The key to not fearing engine failure is to assume it has already failed... Or something like that.

Anyway, would be a good excuse to do something cool.

Tldr: Yes.

I started to ask on my local junkyards for frs or pulled out engines in case mine decide to grenade itself. Asked some neighboors who have big tools like engine hoist etc to perfor the swap. Opened an bank account where all my overtime money go there. I have a log book of #parts with delearship prices, saved websites where i can buy oem parts too. I bough a year supply of oil and filter because i want to be in time when perform. I miss some i belive

The trick is to super- and turbocharge it as soon as it hits 60k, should be good for 250k+ if you do that. Or it'll blow up, 50/50.

I try not to worry about things I cannot control. If it breaks I'll fix it. Things break in life.

Used to. Now IDGAF. Just turn up the radio and any noise disappears (though my dash started rattling, and the sub just makes that worse. Need a new fix)

March 2013 build date. First track day at 120,000 miles. I don't fear it's death.

thats awesome man.

I guess for me its just my ignorance when it comes to cars and the fact that this is my DD.

With the money invested I really hope my car at LEAST makes it to 100k. I Just hope these random ones who do fail early are flukes. Comparable to other subarus I really think if properly maintained these could make it well past 100k. I have no intentions of going FI or tracking, some days i drive harder than the other but thats just life.
