Highway vibrations???
Car is 3 1/2 years old just bought Vision Cross 426 wheels 17x17.5 with a set of Cooper V2 tires 225. Had the tires shop balance twice. They used inside lip weights to balance. Have a slight vibration above 75 mph. When car was new with stock wheels and tires had a very stable and flat feeling at almost any speed! Don't know if it is just suspension bushings starting to break down or the wheels and tires I just added or wheel bearings or even the shop I used still didn't do a good job balancing them? Want that solid feel on highway at any speed. What suspension components should I change??? Go all out and break the bank or just change out some bushings with some good Intermediate Whiteline. This is not a track car, but do like spirited driving Street and highway! Opinions please.

Also could be that the tire shop doesn't know what they are doing and you need to find another. I really doubt it's suspension related. Do you still have your old wheels and tires? Put them on and see if there is still vibration. |

^This. If no vibe, go back to the shop you got the new wheels/tires from and tell them to make it right or get a refund.

Was good. Some combination of new variables. Not good anymore. Do over.

What to do? Either have the offending tire(s) switched out or have it (them) "shaved". Brings to mind a story about my 1970 MGB back-in-1970. I had a high speed vibration with some brand new Dunlap tires. No way they could get them "balanced". So, this old boy took me aside and said he had a machine in the back of the shop that could "fix" my tires. The catch was that the process would void the tire warranty and the process was illegal in California. I said ...... let's proceed. So we rolled the four wheels to a dark corner in the back of the shop and he proceeded to mount the wheels on his machine and "shave" the tires. Yep, you could see where they "out of round" as the rubber was pealed off parts of the tires. He put them back on my car, then I pulled up on the freeway and let er rip. WOW! Rock smooth up to at least 100 mph ...... (Yes, San Jose readers, in 1970, it was possible to find enough space to go 100 mph in Santa Clara Valley ...... ![]() THE END humfrz |

Does the vibration get worse when going faster or does it go away?

You could try getting hub-centric rings for the wheels to see if that helps
