I 2nd the BlackVue.. I have the DR490L - 2ch which has the LCD. I got this as it did not require me to purchase the powermagic pro? to wire it for parking mode..

Only thing negative is that you cannot adjust left and right once in position, only able to tilt up and down.

i like blackvue quite a bit too but my university student budget says NO! lol, im trying to see if i can convert the 12v outlet in my glove box to be always on with a low voltage switch and then plug the cam into that but ill have to wait a few weeks to do that, all the cams im looking at have some sort of parking feature but none of them have batteries that will suffice, most have capacitors like the one I have and they explicity tell me i need external power to use those features, except for the blackvue which has its own battery thingy but I cant afford that these two look really nice but im only a few hours into my research as of yet

The "battery" for the blackvue only lasts a few hours if I remember correctly. Rewiring a plug to be always hot won't be difficult at all. Just don't let your car sit for more than a few days or you'll kill your battery. Definitely the easiest option

yes ive heard that too so the BV doesnt make sense for me, before tax its almost $600CDN which is like a set of tires or track days. Ive been reading and it seems like tapping into the radio or brake light power delivery is the way to go i should be able to keep my current cam then, I can also throw in a larger battery in the car for some more peace of mind but I drive the car every day as it is
