lol

okay but just to re-iterate, this guy was behind me in the same lane as me, sharply turned into a lane he's not supposed to be in, at a place he's not supposed to do it, and cuts me off and goes in front of me. In a race it would be equivalent to cutting a corner through the grass to overtake and subsequently getting ejected from the race.

Well if it was a race there wouldn't be 'lanes' or personal space for that matter...

Can I Troll too?

If you want to go faster than me, and folks already drive 10-20 MPH over the speed limit, then I'll move over for you, but in heavy traffic if I'm going the same speed as everyone in front of me, then using my buffer space to get around me is just a (insert favorite expletive here) move.

No, seriously, if you drive like an asshat then stay away from me and my buffer space.

How about a little courtesy, folks!

That's what I mean though. Sure you might be being safe giving a reasonable following distance from the guy in front of you. I'm not faulting anyone for doing that. However, if you leave an open space big enough for a car. A car is eventually going to occupy that space. And the heavier/slower the traffic is the more likely it will become that space looks good to somebody. It's kind of like going to a rock concert when you don't like crowds. I know you just want to get work or home or wherever safely but if that's your goal you are going to have to accept people who have less of a personal space requirement jumping in there and just brush it off. Or become batman but then the whole safety thing is out the window anyway so you become an aggressive as well.

You are 100% correct. There is no shortage of selfish douchebags in this world.

And there's nothing wrong with that if it's from an adjacent lane. I don't care. I leave the space so people can merge if they need to, as should everyone. But to drive around me, directly from behind me, on the shoulder just to sharply cut me off is saying "F you" to me basically, not to mention giving ME the finger even though he made the **** move. That I don't like.

Unless* said adjacent lane is an HOV lane... No I get it. It seems kind of pointless but maybe he thought you were driving slow on purpose or something. Or maybe he didn't realize it was an HOV lane till he got in it. Or maybe he thought you were brake checking him because you were dragging the brakes with no one in front of you. I'm not trying to make excuses for the guy, but who knows what he was thinking. Anyway if the guy in the right lane went for the gap you left would that be violating your personal space? Are all drivers supposed to know that your personal space is 2 car lengths and not 1 or 3?

And that is precisely why I'm saving up for the General Dymanics grill installed g t g Hellfire missile launcher. With all the Douchebaggery among drivers we need to find a way to make that sort of behavior a bit more risky to the douchebags.

I prefer the Simon and Simon bumper treatment.

I think one of the other guys in this thread said something about personal space. I have no such requirement. All are welcome. Also it varies from zero space to a couple car lengths. I wasn't dragging my brakes either. Just coasting along with nowhere to go for either myself or him, which makes it all the stranger

Speaking of personal space... I didn't have a come race at me bro encounter but I parked in a Home Depot like 3 cars from anybody around me and at the end of the lot.
I come back outside and see some douchecanoe has parked his crappy truck next to me like 18" away and crooked so it was hard for me to open my door.
Rather than slash his tires or key his truck like he deserved, I opened his door and took out his cell phone and texted to the last person he texted
and who who appeared to be his son a nice message. "Don't park so close to others in the Home Depot parking lot" Then I left the phone sitting
on the outside of the drivers window so he walks up to his truck and sees it first thing.

Something tells me he'll think a little more about parking like an asshat next time.
