IIRC Nameless stated their track/test pipe saved 26lbs. I figure that because of extra tubing and some hangers, that doing something similar to what I did is probably a weight savings of 20-23lbs. As for any power gains, marginal @ best, but I am getting 32-33mpg @ 80mph with the a/c on and 35-36mpg @ 75mph with the a/c off... with the 6MT.

I only have my spare/jack/tow hook/screwdriver in the car when I'm going out of town. With the weight loss of the trunk items and the muffler you can notice it's a bit more nimble.

BTW I only posted my videos because the sound of what I have should be similar to the Nameless track/test pipe. It's not really loud @ all. I was surprised with how "deep" the sound is especially @ idle. If you're considering it, get a (2) 14mm wrenches/sockets and unbolt the exhaust @ the 2 bolt flange where the stock muffler connects and start/rev the car.

Thanks for the reviews/impressions of the muffler delete pipes. I have one on order from Nameless for my BRZ, and I was hoping it would be here for this weekend's autocross, but still no shipping confirmation, so I'm not holding my breath.

One thing to note, it does stick out of the back a couple inches. Already burned myself on it once.

I'm injury prone I guess.

Hey! Thanks for the review and details including video. We have been so swamped lately with a lot of development work on the other side of the fence (STi Rotated Turbo Kit, etc) but we do have some good news on further development: We bought a 2013 FRS that should be in any day. Raven Black, will be getting a full vinyl wrap most likely from Guardline in Tacoma, WA. Thinking about an F35 Joint Strike Fighter look. Two tone flat grey/black w/ a ghosted logo down the side and maybe some wild tail end look similar to the Navy F35's:

As soon as it comes in, our development schedule will be back on track and we'll be building like crazy. Thinking about getting the quad tip valence garnish from TRD and getting that quad tip design finalized as well.

We do have plans to take this muffler delete and give some options to it - add a double wall exhaust tip, maybe throw a little canister muffler into it as well. Not as light, but still a LOT lighter than the factory muffler. Let us know if you're interested in something like that and we can dial it in for you.

Canister would be a good option as well as a dual straight pipes

What about the aerodynamic concerns? Before the belly of the muffler would act as a diffuser to help the car suction, now there is a big space and the bumper acts as a somewhat parachute

Perhaps create a plastic diffuser peace to go along with the track pipe for track use?

True, but the muffler had some pipes along the side and crap and the rear suspension was completely exposed. Good opportunity to cover it all up!

I would like to see an under-tray and diffuser set made for this car. Full body length cover. Lotus style!

To the OP: I'd love to hear some sound clips if you have the time & means.

@Nameless: Loving the overall simplicity of it!
