I think a better way to start this conversation is what are you doing with the car? Once you define that goal it gets a lot easier to pick the right suspension for your project.

They are basically a set of US hand-assembled offshore coilovers with nicer finishes and options. Better than the BC stuff, but the components themselves are similar quality.
The initial quality I would call 'good' because of this, the damping adjustments are smooth and accurate because a lot more care goes into them, but the support is nearly non-existent. We ran a set in the Lifted BRZ and they have been good so far, but the endlink length was wrong, and the thread pitch for the ABS mount was wrong so we had to deal with that since Flatout didn't reply to our emails, and on Instagram they said 'thanks!' A local friend with an Impreza can't get them to rebuild his coilovers either, so just be prepared for what may come.

RCE Springs with Bilstein shocks are a great choice if that is your goal. Like others have said, Flatout is just a hand assembled overseas shock. If you just want to lower the car, nothing wrong with that, a quality spring and shock combo will ride better and last longer.

Excessive lowering is something these cars are NOT set up for, (in fact that majority of cars aren't, so the 86 Triplets aren't unique in that regard.) Aim to lower about an inch, (maybe a dash more,) and you'll be in decent shape. Be prepared to purchase components to correct alignment issues that comes with lowering as well. Start by reading the stickies, 99.9% of your questions will be answered by reading that fantastic information.

and this ^ There is a massive difference between lowering the car and slamming it with massive wheels that need 45 degrees of camber to make them fit and totally ruin it for any form of actual driving.

also, are you looking to just lower and leave it or do you want to be able to adjust and play with it?

Kinda both. I want to tuck the tire under the fender or atleast pretty close, but i dont want to add excessive camber because i hate the look of cambered cars. Just going for a flush look. And yea ik its “stupid” and im “ruining my car.”
