So, is the S-FR officially dead yet, or is there still a glimmer of hope?

Really not much news of any value. Other than an Evo click bait "article" based upon year old info being presented as if new there has been very little said about it for quite a while now. Even the forum speculation has pretty much died off.

I wouldn't hold my breath at this point.

it takes about 5 yrs to bring sports car into production according to Toyota's chief engineer. so i think at the earliest it would be 2020.

Yep. If it actually goes to production or even comes here. Many cars go through several levels of concept and development just to end up never being made or made for a restricted market only. Hard to tell with Toyota though since they general keep things pretty close to them right up to release.

i would hope it would come to the US. they just need to price it right and make it look less like a pokemon.

Toyota SF-R

What happened to the thread for the SF-R? I realize it'll never see the light of day, but I still liked being able to dream...

I gave up on the forum for it a while back. Wasn't even any speculation much less real info coming through anymore.

The car was in Taipei as recently as end of 2017 at their motor show.

The idea is still alive within Toyota but expect the car to sell in the same realm/market as the Honda S660 if it ever gets approved.

I was one of the very first members but it didn't last long enough to even really get started.

LOL I just went over there to check things out and I was still logged in. Profile probably showed as "searching forums" for the last year and a half.
