Switch out 2017 Steering Wheel
Just curious has anyone on a 2017 limited (the digital screen in dash) change out the steering wheel with something like this:,http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/cusc...l#.WoPh_WKIaEc
Does it work? Obviously, you’d lose control of the digital screen but aside from that will it be functional? Last edited by NeedsBoostt; 02-14-2018 at 02:33 AM. |

Bugger if I know, but I'd assume that because the new wheel doesn't have the buttons you wouldn't be able to use the screen in the dash. Email their customer support. They'd know for sure

Not sure why you want to go backwards, unless you hate the '17 steering wheels. Other than the $700 price tag why? You could re-warp your '17 steering wheel for less than half and in what ever fabric you want.
As far as will it work with the air bag, not sure on the '17 model. Air bag could have different mounting holes. My guess it won't line up with the new air bag.

Thank you all for the input. I asked the question mostly out of curiosity as I plan to wrap the steering wheel (just the silver trim) but in case that goes not as planned...

I also know what "woven" carbon fiber looks like as it's what everyone thinks when they say "carbon fiber" It's all about the style of weave. And that thick clear coat. But yeah I think you knew that as what I assume you meant to say. But eh, if your a carbon fiber whore, that $700 price tag minus steering wheel controls,no thanks.

Idk why anyone with a 2017 wouldn't just get the 86worx kouki steering wheel.
I was going to pull the trigger and buy one but after seeing that the 2018 tS steering wheel has black spokes instead of silver, I figured that I should just wait until the 2018 tS steering wheels are given the carbon fiber treatment. Just something to think about if you would prefer a darker interior look over the silver spoke steering wheel look. |
