Another thing I was thinking of is if we wanted a built engine and depending on who’s doing it are they using the 13-16 short block or the updated strengthend 17 blocks. With the differences that you have just shown here it would matter a grate deal for the project.

I have seen first hand the 13 short block with rods and pistons hold 700+HP the casting changes to strengthen it do not really help much.
Basically I think they strengthened the FA casting for the new WRX and instead of 2 different castings just made the FRS BRZ use the same new casting, which is stronger but our transmissions wont handle it anyhow.
