I think you had the secret there. Turn the car off. I didn't so the low purr was probably pretty obvious.

Best way to silence your exhaust if you think it's too loud?

Put a turbo kit in. Makes the car super zippy, brings your noise down as well as kills alot of the 3000 rpm drone, and you'll get your money back pretty quick and easy on selling your header. I had a Tomei uel header and selling it within a month after putting the turbo in really took the bite off the initial kit purchase. Don't have to be an amazing mechanic to do it, just mechanically inclined.

But as some tips if you get the same kit as I did (or even better their latest one) you definitely want the aftermarket crash bumper, titanium header wrap (good deals on Amazon), the modified oil filter, gasket sealant for new oilpan, Subaru STI valve, shiv's flash tablet if you don't already have one (with that exhaust you really should have it already for stage 2 exhaust tune otherwise you are already missing out on hp and torque gains). I think I swapped out a breather hose cause it didn't fit right as well.

Also you don't need it but if you drive outside of Calgary considerably a boost controller with gauge and gauge pod to ensure you have good early boost and properly stay under 11 psi in lower elevations after you tune for calgary.

Honestly best muffler is a turbo!

I've been considering forced induction for a while. Which kit did you put on your twin?

If I go turbo anytime soon it will likely be the SBD500X due to its price point. I know that people suggest an STI valve as you said, its nice to get a list of supporting mods as well. You also mentioned header wrap, what about reflective wrap for the intake around the turbo?

Also how did you tune your car? That's my biggest concern for going forced induction, I feel I can put the kit on myself but I didn't want to buy an OFT if I had to use something else to tune the car.

Have some eibach multi pro r1 coils for sale if you are interested.

I have a pic of the car with them on too so you can see the drop if you want

I was at Vex for a service recently and they were wrapping up a built FA20 for someone, is that person on these forums? I am curious what it dyno'd at if it has been.

Deorio - not sure about too many shops but Vex does a lot with Subaru's and they were very fair on a timing belt replacement for my brothers STi.
