These things are fast, but ugly. I'd probably take one as a fun DD if the price was right, but $40k+ for a civic is too much.

I vote for Civic type R. The BRZ tS could be much better, but unfortunately it is not.

Both look like they'd be fun cars, not sure I can get over the rear of the Type R as well as the FWD. On the other hand most folks are going to think you bolted a wing onto a brz and it's considerably slower than a Type R.
I can nitpick but I'd probably enjoy owning either of them, lots of character. I enthuse harder than most, and these cars look like they will give you some fun ownership experience. |

I relate with him, I looked at so many different types of cars recently when I was shopping. If you are just out there looking for a car that is going to give you a hell of a fun time, these cars are both going to be on your list... or look like apples.

Type R no doubt... get actual power and performance instead of just factory rice (No offense, but the wing on the tS is just ridiculous)

To me it's no "uglier" than a WRX or EVO. I actually quite like it in a few of the darker colors. I'll be test driving one in the next few months once I sell the BRZ.
We'll see.... I'm cross shopping several, very different vehicles at the moment. |

Not gonna lie, asking this question on this forum is asking for super bias replies. BUT just my $.02 i feel like the type R is stupidly overpriced for what it is. WRX Hatch would be the smarter choice

How is it over priced? I could just as easily say the wrx is over priced and you could get a Mazda3 would be the smarter choice.
