My vinyl/DJ setup powered off with dust covers in place, and then powered up and ready to go.
The black bag on the lower left is also full of records. And I have another 6 cube storage unit full of vinyl in the other room. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Interesting and cool equipment, even if not into vinyl. Thanks for sharing...
![]() I've just ended up ordering a STAX...found out about the SR-L300 Limited 80th anniversary edition that was recently announced this month. It's a hybrid of the L300 and L700, figured I'd go with it over the L700 since it should be unique and is a limited release (Qty 800 total): http://www.stax.co.jp/information/ca...imited-CAT.pdf

Super exclusive headphones! Looking forward to seeing some actual photos of them when they arrive.
I just ordered some "high end" interconnect cables. Two pairs of Wireworld Equinox 7 1.0m RCAs. http://www.wireworldcable.com/audio-interconnects.html Thoughts? Quote:

Interesting video. Kimber RCAs are what I'm using currently. I've also tried Monoprice, Monster, Audioquest, and MIT cables. Each has had their own audible differences.

I'm not picky with my cables, I just get a roll of 12awg speaker cable and go with it for my HT speakers, or inexpensive interconnects for the equipment connections. Same for headpones, other than wanting custom cables that are lighter and easier to deal with than stock cables. Generally don't like spending much over $100 for custom headphone cables. Will use inexpensive RCA/XLR for the interconnects.

That's cool. Gotta go with what sounds good to you.
For my HT setup went with just standard OFC 14ga cable, seems just fine. For my dedicated two channel rig, I did notice a difference going from 14ga to Audioquest long grain copper SC. Also MIT Shotgun SC were a big step up from the Audioquest. But I was just demoing them as they cost like $3k or something crazy. Quote:

MTX / Sound Craftsman Orion PPi a/d/s/t Xtant Diamond Audio I have absolutely no clue what I am talking about, (note in sarcasm purple) but if you want the truth.....whatever company I worked at and we sold cables / interconnects...you bet your last dollar I told the customers they make a difference....but they never did. Cabling is a great way to make high profit for little manufacturing cost, period. The only concern that makes a difference is wire gauge......to small and the current cant get to the amp / speaker / or other device......when your talking about RCA level there really is not enough current to worry about. Voltage on the RCA level is whats important, higher volts RMS = better.

This is a false assertion, though a useful generalization to start with, and probably all you need to worry about for most listeners.
Impedance is what matters most, along with inductance and capacitance. There are interactions between cables and the devices connected at wither end. Impedance is almost entirely dictated by wire gauge, which is why this is a useful generalization. Corrosion and poor connections can increase impedance. Low voltage connections can also be influenced by all 3 parameters to one degree or another - worst case you could see oscillation in the output stage of a pre, for example. That's not likely with average consumer electronics, mind, but is an example of what can happen. These are all measurable, by the way, and do not require golden ears. I have heard a difference in an interconnect swap subsequently backed up by measurements... Lower noise floor and less top end roll off. It was a rather extreme example, a 5meter cable that had been in a car for ages and was corroded inside the cable vs a half meter silver cable in pristine condition... Same gauge, vastly different R/C/I. C
