"Wasted money" in my eyes. Before a muffling device was required. The Namless muffled track pipe was the easy button a lot of people purchased. Now the weight reduction could have been accomplished with a $20 piece of pipe with some steel scrap 1/2" plate strips welded to it and a heavy flange of some sorts.

Or, you can sell it, put in the $30 bent pipes that meet weight, and still be pretty well off.

I don't understand this logic.. for $250 you have a SSC legal option that is 73.708 Grams over minium weight . It's literally 2 bolts and a hanger. Zero fabrication, and very unlikely you will be pulling it and the midpipe off at events for someone's protest.

What is hard to understand about spending $20 vs $250 logic?

Wouldn't the nameless potentially give a more pleasant sound and look nicer (might be a naive question)? The twin is still my daily, so not every mod aspect needs to be purely focused on meeting spec at the min price for every person.

The recent exhaust language change was announced back in November and seems like a decent way to balance options with cost. Its not like they made a rule that said stuff you bought under the old rule is now illegal. If a competitor has a system that is 18lbs or more, (old weight restriction still in the books) then it's STILL legal. If $1500 anti-gravity exhausts were legal before and then they said "oh, you have to take that off now." *THAT* would be something to b!tch about.

They did that with the tires, but everyone was told in advance that there would be a spec tire and everyone would have to run that tire after it was announced.

I saw someone complain about money they spent on RE71's that were now useless to them. (I guess people who were on rivals or anything else were supposed to be screwed instead of the RE71 people?)

I feel bad for the rule makers. They are guaranteed to piss someone off no matter what they do.

The stuff that makes the biggest difference is spec'd, (suspension/tires) and they have tried to keep competitors options open in other areas that matter much less.

They can take who and the amount of bitching on a matter as a barometer for doing something right.

To little from nobody: not enough people interested
Medium from usual people: Well done, rubber stamp
Constant from everyone: Maybe should rethink an issue

Right now it seems like they're in a good place. The usual people who bitch constantly are doing their thing. Keep on trucking.

Bummer. Hate to see someone go over a small issue like this that can be easily remedied.
