lol it's not out of shame, its out of correctness. I swapped the pins so the manual shifting is correct (push up to downshift, down to upshift) instead of the stupid Toyota version. So the shifter patter on the side was wrong and no way to fix it cleanly so I just covered it up

No, an "elegant solution" would be an AT to MT swap.

Almost. I like my AT. My elegant solution is to just get a MT BRZ Limited AND keep the FRS lol

I know, I actually like the AT as well, but I've never driven one. I've been in someone's FR-S with one though and the rev matched downshifts with their muffler delete were spectacular.
