This is speculation, but in light of the Toyota "sticky pedal" thing I'm worried that they'll have the brake pedal and gas pedal far apart... so that bad drivers don't mistake one for the other. In that case the first mod will be a wider brake pedal for heel and toe =P

I think they are one of the most unreliable motors to deal with when modding (Subaru guys don't even bother hitting me with your "They're super reliable/best motors ever built garbage", they are a hit or miss - most of the time a super miss.)

We're building a V8 Turbo Corolla right now, I don't think the FT-86 should be too hard to do, the hardest part is going to be the wiring, but even then I have a full AEM EMS to run the car off of. - http://www.worksterautoworks.com/Wor...r_Journal.html

Enjoi, you just struck a nerve in Ichi...

No wonder why my buddy was so quick to sell his 400hp 07 STi with stock internals!

Not entirely...

I do agree that boxer engine is very picky engine. Need to tune it right way or you just gonna get screwed over... but that's the reason why I like boxer engine. Those ppl that thinks just adding bigger turbo/FMIC/exhaust is the one complaining about boxer engine is crap. Real boxer engine fan know how & what need to be done w boxer engine and how strong it is.

I don't care he pull out boxer engine and put 3S or whatever in this car and need to cut out the hood cuz it's hitting the engine... or putting v8 turbo in corolla and change it into low end tq pig. BUT I do care that hearing those kind of BS from someone that haven't fully worked on boxer engine is complaining about how POS the engine is.

Correct me if I'm wrong, enjoi... actually don't. It's waste my time reading it.

in a manual transmission car, they really have no need for that. ugh. i will be really upset if they screw up pedal positioning on this one.

In this case, how crappy Porsche is. LOL
Don't forget that Toyota helps building the engine. And people who don't like the engine shouldn't be here, honestly. There are many good looking, easily-swappable-engine cars, why bother going after the car? It's like swapping LS engine in an RX-7/8, it only makes the car less charming/unique.
BTW, I'm a Toyota fan.

Isn't that true with any motor? Too much boost with stock internals and it can only take so much. My buddies STi was running fine and I almost bought it from him b/c that thing was a blast to drive. Wasn't sure how long it would last and I didn't want to be there to find out!

IMO, cars look best stock..with the exception of wheels and tint. So, I would tint the windows and throw on a turbo/supercharger once available if this car ends up not being offered with one from the factory.

Valentine One? It seems to be a very popular choice.
