You were going on about Pennsylvania and New Hampshire.

White Mountains are gorgeous.

I drove past a huge sign in Joshua Tree once. It said something like "RV's must turn back here because road ahead is narrow" and the road ahead actually was much wider and straighter than the mountain passes in Norway, where most of the commercial fish export bound for Europe is transported on 18-wheelers and semi-trailer trucks all year round.
That made me think that the good people of California are used to better roads than I am.

The speed limit on Swedish highways is 110 km/h but they're not really enforced and below 150 it's just small fines anyway, so the leftmost lane typically trods along at 130-140 km/h.
City traffic in Stockholm and Gothenburg (cities in Sweden) feels much faster paced than it does in LA, San Francisco, Las Vegas, etc. although I won't venture any numbers on that.

All in all, in my experience, traffic in the US feels slow, polite and safe compared to Europe. So those death rates surprises me.
I was just joking about how roads in certain areas of the US are crap. Only place I've bee across the Atlantic to is Ireland so I can't really comment on how roads in the rest of Europe are. From what I gather they are indeed narrower and more precarious, but usually look decently paved. If the roads in the US are usually better, then perhaps folks here have more confidence than they should and are more likely to come across a surprise at speed.

Speeds on Sweden seem to be on par with what I usually see.

I saw a beautiful orange XB Falcon coupe in Melbourne the other day and I won't lie, I got hard. They are one of the coolest looking muscle cars ever made.

You need to see Eric Bana's XB. He made a movie of it's life. Spoiler, it has an unhappy ending...

The movie is called 'Love the Beast' it's a great watch, regardless of what type of cars you're into.

Yes it was and yes he did. I was referring to the end of the movie being unhappy, not the life of the car. I wish I had a sugar mommy who'd fix me up now that I'm old and broken down

Unfortunately , the police here are not very experienced at catching criminals.
Recently the police had rocks thrown at them and they ran away.
Even if they successfully arrest a criminal , the court system lets them off with a "good behaviour promise" even with repeat offenders.
