Now, that brings to mind a back-in-the-day story......

For several winters, my parents would load up us kids and escape from the Ohio winter to central Florida to visit my grandparents who retired to down there.

Since their house was small, I would sleep on the back seat of our old Plymouth. At the crack of dawn, awakened by the sweet smell of Florida, I would get up, grab my handy orange juicer thing (see below - NO, @Tcoat , that is NOT a butt plug) and sit under an orange tree, suck the juice out of many oranges and watch the sun come up ..........NO CHORES TO DO ........yaaaaaaaa ......

Damn.

I just read the article and several other sources, and this is real.
I know just about enough about operating systems and processors to kinda understand what the problem is (but far away from fixing or exploiting it) and it's very likely we will see noticeably slower computers and cellphones as the fixes are rolled out.

As I understand it, the "fixes" to the operating systems can be "lifted" if next generation processors have the problem solved, so I am now postponing my plans for building a new PC until I see how this plays out.

Oh, and I sort of agree with Intel that it's not really a bug.
But, it still needs to be dealt with. It will be expensive, and they will make all of us pay for it.
