Anyone knows if the kit would work on 2017 BRZ? (I am in Canada)

Thanks
It would, but you'd need to change a couple things for it to fit (I'm not 100% on the details). The kit for MY17 cars is currently in development, I'm waiting for it as well.

thanks man

i am looking at this thing since this is like the most OEM like quality thing, will wait till the whole thing including their tune becomes available to make it 100% plug and play

they will hopefully develop a kit for 2017

I wouldn't use their tune though. I think it's made to be CARB compliant for california, and we don't really need it. Adds 1K to the price. I'll get the headers before I get the Edelbrock and throw in an ecutek tune as well by an independent tuner. Then when I add the edelbrock, I'll just ask him for the FI tune and keep on going.

I wouldn't skip the CARB tune too quickly. Sure, it was designed for California compliance, but its actually designed for a range of fuel types. If you are planning on just dropping the kit and nothing else, you actually save some money going with the CARB kit since it comes with Ecutek and the tune is optimized for stock header, etc.

I would agree though, if you are planning on getting headers, etc. that would require tweaking the tune anyway, then purchasing Ecutek from your tuner would be the better way to go.

The Edelbrock's tune is free for all Edelbrock kits.

We have to be emissions compliant here, as well (E-Test) Removing your cat is illegal. You must know this, no?

I figured you did. I've read it's possible to pass with one cat.

EDIT: To be compliant I believe you have to be running OE cat. Might as well go catless if you're going to change it out.

Just curious, does Canada only do an OBD2 readiness check? Here in California, they do both the OBD2, a sniffer and a visual check, so anything that looks non-stock, even if it is catted, gets flagged.

I've only done the e-test once before but basically I drove in, the car wasn't put up on anything and it didn't look like anyone looked underneath. They ran it for a bit and gave me a sheet that just said "ready" in a bunch of variables. I don't think they care if the OE cat is in there... or at least that's the impression I got from the place I went to.

If I recall, we used to just have sniffer, now it's OBD2 ready. But, i'm told new laws are coming into effect where the cars will have to get a full safety, which would include visuals and emissions test. I'm not certain on all of this.

They probably don't but just trying to let you know it "can" be a problem
