My surgery (as I said a dozen or so years ago) was around $2,500 and I paid for it out of my Medical Flexible Spending Account. I believe you can also pay for it out of your HSA if you have one.

Yeah, my doctor mentioned that as well. My current plan doesn't have an HSA, so I'd have to switch at some point to save money in that account.

To what? Curious what others think is worthwhile.

Nothing else worth it in the price range that interests me even a little. If I already had a trailer, I *might* have had to go give the Miata a test, but that really doesn't work for road-trips, so unlikely.

Plus this way I don't also lose even more money having to unload the 4 sets of wheels/tires (2 for racing, summer driving, winter driving), the suspension (rather fancy coilovers, swaybars, lca), etc. I can't use everything I had, but most of it. A couple things came on the car I did not expect so will sell those.

Sure. Usual rules, you break it, you bought it.

But there are 6 taprooms within 5 blocks of my house, and two of the best stocked bars in the area with over 40 options on tap, each... so we might not need to drive once settled in... if that gets boring, heading toward the city finds another 30 taprooms easily... plus at least two distilleries (only one has a license to serve though) and a cider bar with some of the best fish'n'chips I've ever had.

I admit, it's going to be incredibly tough getting into the passenger seat for the first time at an event - especially in my car. Maybe more than just the first time... but I need to be comfortable there so I can teach Street Survival again, so.

Well let me get San Francisco out of the way and then I will see what I can swing for a Chicago visit. I may be able to pull that one off as work related .
