How much can these stock motors hold up with a good tune? The high compression with a turbo worries me. I would want to lean towards 350hp more than 300hp.

High compression boost is the future.

Low comp turbo is a 90's thing.

Again, throw out everything you know, because it's only going to hurt you going in this project. Leave behind your preconceived notions.

I was thinkin E85 also. This wont be my daily driver since i still have my GTI. I have a gas station down the road that sells E85. Would it be worth the upgrade?

A gt28 sized turbo with e85 can hit 350whp easy. Check out the dyno sticky above to get a better idea of how much boost you're going to have to run for a certain turbo to get your said power goal.

Thanks..Would the e85 be worth the upgrade? Will it be more reliable? If not I can get 93 anywhere around here.

Would a gt28 be about the same as a t3 .63 trim? Want to get a turbo with external waste gate instead of internal. I see most of the gt28s come internal.

E85 is always worth it.

I can hit 350whp with my 18G. A GT28 with E85 can hit far, far higher.

My stock clutch can slip if it's cold enough at 6.5psi. The known slipping point of the OEM clutch is in the realm of 285-315lb/ft, give or take.
