Across the line on fire: 2017 86 Racing Series Newcastle

Wow. Crazy to see 30 86s on this tight course, including this guy going across the finish line on fire:

That's pretty awesome, that guy was like "I can make it!"

Side note, how prepped are those cars? They look relatively softly sprung, and seem to be running 18.

Woohoo, it's back! One of my favorites to watch (in addition to T4).

That last lap was a doozy!

They have a "Performance Kit" which all participants have to adhere to. It's as follows:

Quote:
PERFORMANCE KIT
To maximise safety, performance, affordability and fair competition, Toyota Motor Corporation Australia (TMCA) and Neal Bates Motorsport (NBM) have developed a control specification kit. Control Items include:

Engine
Baffled oil pan insert
Motec ECU with engine program
Exhaust – headers/extractors and muffler
Throttle stop
Suspension – T86RS front & rear shock absorbers and springs
Front anti roll bar links
Brakes – AP racing front rotors & DBA rear rotors
AP racing front & rear calipers
Tyres – Dunlop Direzza 225/40R18 DUNLOP DZ2 – 86 Spec
Wheels – OZ racing
TRD rear spoiler
Roll cage – T86RS NBM control specification
The suspension is a standardized suspension for the series, so not likely stock.
