Right? Fenders and supports look unscathed. Radiator support brackets are cheap. The rest will buff out.

There are really only two way it can go. The insurance company will fix it or write it off. Either way you can still be in the car. If they fix it (what I think they will do) then you can carry on with your plans. If they write it off you find an inexpensive used one and still carry on with your plans.

Oh, and big props in taking responsibility for the situation. Far too many would blame everybody in the world but themselves under the same circumstances.

Did your airbag deploy? If so, that can add around $1000 to the bill.

Lol. Love how everyone is telling you the costs from a couple of pics.
Take it in and you may be surprised.

Agreed. They are simply best guesses from what we can see. Sometimes best guesses are right though.

If the radiator is OK and the crumple zones are clear, and no airbag... Its just an expensive repair. Crash beam may have bent down and needs to be replaced.

If the frame needs repair, ... Well, my old car was estimated at 12k to clean out the engine bay so the frame could be straightened, and put it back. No replacement parts, no airbags replaced, no paint work in that estimate.

Hope it goes well for you.

Radiator seems fine and there were no leaks. No airbags either. Crash happened with me going 30-35 mph. And yea I’m praying the frame doesn’t need work

No way in hell there's frame damage. That was a love tap. Unfortunately you slid under because you were both on the brakes. I bet you would've gotten away with just a bumper cover and the styrofoam insert if it wasn't for the height offset.

The welded seam across the top of the bumper beam may have folded which is unfortunate because that's the only part in this mess that is tagged with a VIN.

I never used to pay attention to that because all my previous cars were lovingly-maintained hoopties. It only matters if you plan on selling.

Why would it cost that much if it’s mostly cosmetic damage? It shouldn’t cost that much for a new hood and front bumper. If he wanted to he could just get an aftermarket hood and bumper for far cheaper around $5k-6k.

Ay, that'll buff out! I know a guy!
Important thing is you're fine, we'll not seriously injured..
Little bit of polish, time with a hammer and bada bing... wouldn't even be able to tell it had a scratch.
