Frs drl to low beams

I bought a xenonhid low beam led headlight kit and iJDMTOY Xenon White 10-SMD CREE High Power 9005 LED drl for my frs. I drove it a while ago and noticed that the high beam isn’t that bright which doesnt reflect the signs on the road. Is it possible to switch my xenonhid low beam to my ijdmtoy drl? Like use my drl as my low beams and my low beams as my drl?

Not exactly sure what you are asking, but you can mod however you want. I have modded highs that are HID. I think they work great. I got them for an old project... that was never finished. Anyway, a little grinding, filing, epoxy, silicone rescue tape, and ingenuity - Done.

Both my low beams and daytime running lights/high beams are led. Can i switch them cos my high beams are not that bright or is it because its an led that has only 10w? I wanted something that is bright whenever i turn on my high beams especially on roads that are kinda dark.

LEDs brightness is measured in lumens, like HP to a car. Watts are a measure of the power used for a given time, think MPG.

A 10w led can be brighter than a 35 watt bulb it replaced. It all depends on the efficiency of the LED.

I don't have experience with the exact LED you have, but you should be able to change the lights to make them brighter.

When you put LED in as your DRL, you lose high beam functionality.

Is hid okay with drl? I dont want to lose the high beam functionality. Any suggestions on where i could get one?

So, for me: Unhooking the drl was my first mod. I hated the single high beam running half power. I use my lows as drl. And as I said before, I now run HID in my highs.

There is a DIY on how to "fix" the drls. It takes just a few minutes to unplug the resistor. (It's actually what my first post was about. Lol)

The reason your highbeams suck is because LEDs suck for highbeams, especially the multi-SMD LED bulbs. You did not lose highbeam function they just suck when compared to a regular halogen bulb.

For most people out there I advise that you do not use an HID for your highbeam for a couple reasons. The first is 99% of the time your highbeam is used as a flasher, HIDs take time to get to full brightness. This also has an adverse side effect, without giving it the proper time to get to full brightness, flashing it on and off, this can seriously shorten the life span of the ballast and bulb. Another reason is your DRL runs at a lower voltage then your highbeam, this low voltage is not enough to ignite the HID system properly. So you may get flashing, only one side turning on, or just not working at all. Sometime it may work but not always. This is also a good way to kill your ballast and igniter.

With that said, if you live in an area that you need to use your highbeams for night driving this would be the only time I would say ok go ahead with the HIDs in your highbeams. Just make sure to disable you DRL so you dont shorten the life span of your HID kit.

Back to the LED bulb, I would not use an LED for any driving light unless it is a good quality high brightness system that is designed specifically for that. These are usually 30 watt single led systems with serious cooling, heat sink and fan. To me LED systems haven't advanced enough yet to give good quality light output. It maybe "bright" but they dont work well enough with the stock projector and reflector to give good light output.
