If you go to Walmart today you're liable to get in a fight with a turkey for the last turkey.

That's no lie.

Drove by the Honey Baked Ham store on Winchester this morning. Must have been 200 people lined up already. Last year there were several fights in the parking lot. It was on the evening news. Crazy.

Ridiculous but predictable.

I'd say go for an alternate meal this year if lacking a turkey on this thanksgiving eve.

My mom's making stuffed cabbage for me

* although that's mostly because stomach issues prevent me from eating turkey at present and my extended family's cooking is not enjoyable to me.

Waited too long to make reservations at a restaurant so it looks like this will be my Thanksgiving this year:

We aren't having turkey this year. With my Dad passing last week everyone is pretty worn out and everyone just wants to relax and watch football. No one wants to be stuck in the kitchen all day. I got a bunch of boxes of La Villa ravioli (awesome ravs), a couple quarts of sauce, a couple of bags of salad, and a couple loaves of garlic bread. Easy and delicious.

Ok, gotta ask. What's the problem? Do they cook Rocky Mountain Oysters or something?

Not sure if you mentioned this before, but sorry for your loss. That food sounds just fine to me! I'm not a huge anti-tradition guy but when it comes to holiday food go right on ahead!

They just put like random ass shit in the different sides. Like one year it was granny smith apple in the stuffing, if I'm remembering correctly. And then like nuts in stuff that doesn't have nuts usually.

Nuts set off my stomach issue anyway, but just in terms of like "oh wow that sounds appetizing/not appetizing" that kind of weirdness just totally breaks the scale for me.

I'm definitely a bit of a picky eater but some stuff just shouldn't be mixed!

Our Thanksgiving menu and recipes have not changed one tiny bit in the 36 years I have been married. I think we have even used the same brand of cream corn without deviating. I would LOVE for somebody to throw some apples or cashews in one of the side dishes just for a change.

Oh I'll throw an apple in your cashew, if you know what I mean.

Damnit. I specifically used the word cashew and not "nuts" to avoid exactly this kind of comment!
I failed.
I should have know better.
