I feel the opposite, but then again, my first car had a short shifter so that is what I was used to...

Isn't main reason for short shifters not shifting feel, but rather quickness of shifts due shorter throws? But as there is still same gearbox with same synchros imho not much need in such shifters, one better does shifts without forcing them through as quick as possible but in steady motion (+maybe revmatch), but if so, where is need in such? At least shifter like SRP's also enhances feel by making it feel more precise and also repositions knob higher for shorter path to reach from steering wheel, if some gains are wished.

I can't speak to this car (yet) but I found the change from large muscle groups to small muscle groups actually aided in precision (and subsequently was the major reason for the faster shifts... but it was also required precision). Granted, it was a very VERY short throw, custom made just for me. That particular car had to do a roller test for emissions and the tech did a 1-2-5, it was almost funny if it hadn't nearly launched the car... he couldn't figure out how I drove it.

Thanks for this, was curious myself. Do you have an aftermarket shifter bushing or MTEC shift springs installed as well?

Unless the dealership changed it, which I doubt, no, everything else is stock as I bought the car.

I did those shortly after purchasing my car, and they helped firm up the shifting. Curious how the combo would feel.

The US TRD modification gets rid of the washer that rattles. It is a lot cheaper than the STi short shifter. I guess it might be worth it to get the STi one since I am spending the money on it. Its double the price

Judging by the picture, I think they are.

Should work. I installed one in my '17 using instructions for a kartboy shifter, everything looks the same. It even got rid of the rattles at 4k and above.
