Someone ask if I was going to change Brake pads...The Brakes are surprisingly good.. I do have lines and fluid done. I have Subaru 4pots if I want to make the change. however after 3 events, I haven't seen the need.

So whats done at this point:

-rims/tires with lightweight forged lugs
-brakelines and fluid
-coilover suspension w/camber plates
-rear end links
-3 different size rear bars if needed
-lightweight battery
-performance alignment
-muffler delete with 2lb trun-down installed

Future Things that will/needs to be done:

-Corner Weight
-Tune/Cobb AP
-Header/complete exhaust with Cat
-All suspension Bushings (have Kartboy Rear Diff Bushings to install if I get time)
-Kartboy Short Shifter*When Developed along with Kartboy Shifter bushings.
-Kartboy Lightweight Crank pully
-OS GIKEN 1.5 way Rear Diff
-Lightweight seats
-some type of aero package... front lip, side skirt, rear wing.
-some other minor enhancements that I know of.

Some of this won't be this year...because of budget constraints..but it is planned for the future sometime...

Bill

good stuff

so having an inverted strut in a standard case would help increase rigidity of the unit for McPherson strut applications?

Awesome progress. Do you have any more shots of the car with the coilovers, preferably from farther away from the car? Not sure if you have mentioned, but is there any tire rub now that you're lowered? IIRC you are running 245s correct?

it can be used to increase structure against side loading, really the biggest thing that affects structure is the bearing span (distance from upper seal and bearing to piston position when in full droop). Aside from that though, it also adds a layer of protection against the strut becoming contaminated with dirt and debris. If you think about a typical strut, the bumpstop is protected by the boot, which does an OK job, but not great at protecting dirt and debris from getting on the rod and bump stop. when dirt does get in there, the bump stop basically compacts dirt and debris against the seal and wiper, which wears it down until it gets torn, cracked, or cut. At that point the damper leaks and you start to lose your damping abilities.

Mad Camber... ... actually I was testing the Range of camber on the plates....

Lots of range with the plates... 0ish to -4.5... 6 degrees of caster. settled on -2.5 and 0 toe
rear... -1.8... .1/16th toe in for the rear on both sides..

They used to be blue I think.

Have you considered turning flipping and turning them to get more caster or is it more useful for you to be able to make quick camber adjustments?

Wheeeeew....what a GREAT day.....Met a bunch of 'friends' that I have never met in person... and the Car is getting more more competitive and dialed in... Pretty much, I love the KW's...they are awesome... pretty much didn't adjust them all day...I did take 2 clicks of rebound out of the front... tire temps never got over 112 degrees..so I didn't even spray them.... Right now, in the first day of a 2 day Divisional...the car is in 2nd and 5th in STX out of 10 and in Pax 34th and 77th out of 175 cars... My Co-driver, Bart, is a wheel....he knows street tires..where I have been used to r-comps and havn't used street tires since Dunlop W10's were popular..and I am a bit more timid about trusting street tires..currantly, Bart is 1.34 secs off the leader...in 2nd...the leader, Neal Tovsen is driving a National level prepped 328i... so for the BRZ to be that close to him...I know I have made the right decision... for those that are following along..STR with Colin Fiedler is about 2 secs ahead of STX...soo the big question is: Should the BRZ be in STR or STX... for the stage of prep the BRZ is..It should be Very competitive in STX...STR...probably not so much.. I am sitting in 5th .008 out of 4th, 4/10's out of 3rd...and 9/10's out of 2nd... so I am not that far back.. we are finding the Sweet spot for the rack..the handling is absolutely amazing...
