On the fence about buying this. I've never been great with racing sims but now that I'm much more into cars and actually have my own sports car I'm a lot more interested.

Had the beta demo thing and it was pretty fun.

If you buy it, you have to get a wheel and pedal setup as well. Playing it with a regular controller is NOT an option.

False! ^__^

I play with the controller. No way am I investing $400.00+ on a steering wheel.

I already have the official Logitech PS2 version & PS3 Version sitting around in the closet. I don't need a PS4 version haha.

Nice thing about the controller is that I can sit back and relax while gaming.

A lot of people who actually win a lot of the races say they are using controllers....so who knows...maybe it's easier with the controller than steering wheel.

From personally experience, in previous version of Gran Turismo I'd also do better with the controller.

Ugh, you're doing it wrong lol

Yes I realize that technically you can use a controller, but the point of my post was basically to imply that this is not the way the game is meant to be played. It's a racing simulator, why would you want to use a controller instead of a wheel and pedals? It's a million times more fun to use a wheel with racing games.

Yes, the controller can technically be "better", because it allows you to go "full lock" much quicker than you can with the wheel. But if you're driving around with a controller, are you really driving? Where is the racing "simulation" that's supposedly happening?

I have the PS3 wheel as well, and there's been Youtube vids and site links posted in this thread that shows you how to get it working with the PS4. Might as well give it a go since you have it sitting in the closet anyway.

When I had GT5 with the wheel, there was no force feedback whatsoever. The steering wheel always felt calm, even over bumps. I have no idea why they would laser scan the tracks and not have the wheel kicking in your hands? That's why after trying iRacing and experiencing what an actual race sim is supposed to be like, I couldn't take games like GT and Forza seriously anymore. It's this numb steering that killed them for me. Did they fix that in this one or is the wheel still dead?

Didn't Nissan's team create a PS4 driven GTR to promote GT Sport...?

So I bought the game on release day after cancelling my pre-order, the beta won me over haha. And so far I'm loving it, I love the change in direction they went to focus mostly on online gaming. And damn it's a pretty game as well. The only thing I'm missing is a wheel for my PS4, my ancient G25 needs a replacement.

I mean it's no match for some of the better PC sims such as iRacing but for a fun afternoon of online racing it's really got me hooked.

...also the 86 is back of the pack in the Gr.4 class, disappointing but expected. Still trying my best to stick with Toyota in the manufacturer races though.

I'm with you on this one. Might as well just hop into your real car if you want the full driving experience.

I've played a good amount of Iracing and I would not say it's better that GTSport. It's for more elitist folks who spend $$$ on crazy rigs and set ups. Also Iracing is made by the most greedy developers I've ever seen. I don't think the physics are that different, they seem pretty equal in both. Iracing track feel is a little better but overall graphics suck. In the end if your willing to spend over $100 a year (subscription) and then pay extra if you want any of the cool tracks or cars then good for you but know your not getting a supirior experience. You just get an elitist view feed to you by overly greedy developers to justify an insanely expensive racing sim.

Yeah, even with the steering wheel, it still doesn't feel like the real thing and never will.

Anyways controller life

Yeah, the Beta also won me over.

I actually never knew it was considered the slowest? Maybe that's why it is not as popular in races online. I personally only use that car in GR.4....I love it...(for obvious reasons) and I still managed to win a race using it and generally I'm in the top 8

For GR.3 though, my favorite is the Mazda Atenza. Just love the way it looks.
I don't like the Toyota "Supra" GR.3 car since it's a concept and I don't lie concept cars.

I hope they add some older cars though. Like I'm a huge Subaru fanboy...but I want the older STI's. Also RX-7 needs to be added!

And because this thread gets a lot of traction, I am selling both Project Cars 2 and Need for Speed Payback ... might take that $ and stick it into GT Sport. I don't like the physics in PC2, and NfS does not have wheel integration (but does have BRZ from what I understand).
