I trained a bunch of great recruits on their Soldiers Qualification course. But I did have one that tried to load a belt of 5.56 onto their C9 LMG upside down on a weapons handling test. I told him "stop, take the belt off, walk down the hallway and come back to try again" he came back and did the same thing. That was a tough Progress Review Board to sit in on, since when the troop was doing his handling drills outside of a test environment, he was one of the better ones.

Yep, some folks sometimes, just don't "test" well.

I remember, back-in-the-day, in California, when taking a driving test for a motorcycle license, the tester took me out to the little coarse they had set up.

I fired my dirt bike up and rode it down from the bed of my pickup truck on a 2x4. However, I dumped the bike going around some cones. The tester just laughed and said that if I could ride the bike back up onto my truck on that 2x4, he would pass me. I did .......and did not crash ......

THE END

Well, since this is pick on @Cole day (isn't everyday ..... ) ....... I see where ol @Tcoat has missed this opportunity.

How can one load a "round" (bullet for you cupcakes) into a weapon "upside down" ......

Does a round have a right side up and an up side down ...... how could it ...... it's round ......

Especially, with a MG that is designed with a dual feed system and fires from a disintegrating link belt.

I figure you meant that the soldier tried to load the belt (round) in "backwards" .......

Yes, all of our granddaughters are back in Saint Louis on vacation ....... so I've had a lot of free time on my hands today ........

Try to load a belt of 5.56 upside down into an MG and see if it fires after you ready it.

Edit: Besides, that's not the proper drill. In that case, can't pass him.

Please do explain. You mean he tried to put the links open side up?
