You can apply for personalized plates using the DMV services at AAA if you're a member. Much faster and more pleasant than going to the DMV.

Lol never heard that song.

Obligatory comment about how our twins would leave that SRT boat behind in the corners.

I'm probably going to be moving out of state soon. Does anyone have any recommendations for moving truck rentals? I feel like uHaul is the most well known, but I didn't have a great experience with them in the past.

Are you doing the moving yourself and getting a uHaul to save money? When I did my move from the bay to the central valley, I originally planned on renting a huge Uhaul truck and volunteering some friends and family, but after looking into movers, the money seemed worth it. I ended up going with Pods since it met two needs I had: storage (for while I was showing my house for sale) and moving (hauling my pod to my new location).

I was thinking of trying to save money with a uHaul type truck. I honestly don't have very much stuff, and don't really need storage at all. I called Pods for a quote and they quoted me $2,700 to move from Cali to Washington. I like the convenience factor, but that seemed pretty steep to me.

I've only done moves where I've rented the truck that are <1 hr away but I've rented from Penske and Uhaul. The Penske truck was nicer and seemed to be in better shape. Very small sample though and I don't know how much it depends on the individual location you rent from.

I do absolutely hate the process of moving so the last few times I've paid for movers for local moves and had one done via corporate relocation (which has its own headaches but is still much nicer). I also have hold on to way too much stuff which makes the process worse.

Ya, I wasn't sure how much it would be for an out of state move. Hiring movers just made more sense for my situation (tons of crap, young family, needed storage, etc.) but sounds like it won't be too much of a problem for you.

Agreed about Penske. The Penske truck my buddy rented was definitely in better shape than any Uhaul truck I've rented. I would check on drop off locations though. Part of the reason I had to do Uhaulwas that more often than not, there is a Uhaul location nearby

Thanks guys, I did more research and Penske looks solid. I was quoted $750 for a 16ft truck which seems reasonable to me. Hopefully after gas and tax I should be under 1k. I can't wait until I live in a state without smog.

I decided to try making pozole for the first time on my own today lol.

Safeway used to sell a refrigerated version of it in their deli that I really loved, and then it disappeared. Been wanting to try making it myself ever since.

Hoping it goes well @_@
