Okay so question for all the timers/experienced guys
Here is what I am getting for my FRS in the next few months Invidia Catless Header EL Invidia Over Pipe Invidia N1 (package deal with Front pipe) OFT tuning tablet (I will be running stage 2 EL 95) Injen Cold air Intake w/heat shield Hotchkis strut tower brace Do I need o2 spacers as well? How much gain (if any) would I be seeing with this line up? I am bone stock right now. And after these mods , what do you guys suggest me doing next? Thanks for the support

I hope you like loud, because that setup may be one of the loudest set ups on the stock front pipe i can think of short of a muffler delete. If that's what you're after, this would be a quality set up.
As far as O2 spacers, they won't be necessary, as the OFT stage 2 tune removes any O2 sensor check engine light that is associated with going catless. I would skip on the Injen intake, unless you are looking forward to fiddling with your MAF scale using the OFT. I had one for about a year and even though I was able to eventually tune the MAF scale for higher RPM in, the heat soaking and high IAT, paired with low RPM bogging led me to returning to the stock airbox with a drop-in filter and smooth intake elbow. This set up felt much better, and the car ran much better. You can also see this in my car journal (click the picture in my sig). As far as future mods, that would be up to you. I would get used to the new power and maybe feel out what else is lacking for you in other things such as suspension and interior.

To be honest, your proposed setup doesn't make much sense. (That's not a dig, just a learning opportunity!)
FIRST: Read this - http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81493 SECOND: Read below ![]() The over pipe offers next to no gain until you're hanging out by 200whp. Your front pipe is what you need to consider using an aftermarket component for. Leave your overpipe alone, divert these funds to either a quiet catback, or a catted and resonated, or dual resonated front pipe. The N1 is incredibly loud with anything but a stock header. If you want reasonably priced and less loud, the Q300 is a good choice. If you want it louder than the Q300 but not deafening, the Dezon 2.5" or Perrin 2.5" catback are good choices, (coming from someone who very rarely suggests Perrin products... The Dezod is a bit louder.) The Injen intake is garbage. You will gain very little power, if any, and your intake charge will be hotter. The stock intake is actually very good, think about it! Subaru and Toyota pooled financial and engineering resources to build this car, They didn't say, 'ah yes, we'll make it about 80% as efficient as we can so the aftermarket can sell volumetric efficiency for $300 a pop.' They have some pretty strict economy standards to meet, so you had better believe the intake is GOOD. If you want some nice sounds, you can grab a silicone intake tube, and a dry flow panel filter. The gains will be comparable at less than half the price, which by the way, are still pretty minimal. The suggestion from @Azzudien is a good one, as the ACE header is the best on the market, period, and Ecutek is definitely the way to tune, the Delicious tunes are great, and MXP makes high quality catbacks, albeit a bit heavy. ( I run one and it sounds fantastic, and looks great after 2 years of New England winters.) The 'common package' that I tend to suggest is: JDL header, (it's the best for the money, they even offer an EL version if you're not into rumble,) JDL Ultra quiet front pipe, Ecutek cable and license with either a Moto-East or a Delicious tune, and a catback to taste. Your car will be substantially louder with just the header and front pipe. I think it's best to start with this because you can decide if you want it a little louder or a lot louder when you buy the catback. If you feel like balling out of control, the ACE header is the best header on the market, and is worth every cent. I hope this post was helpful! Again, I didn't mean to poo-poo your proposed build, but hopefully steer you in the direction to a better experience and performance.

Tons of stuff on this forum from CSG about this combo.
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88696 http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121460 I imagine most of the forum vendors are at SEMA this week, but I would hold off on our purchase until you talk to them next week. |

You can use google to search on FT86club specifically.
In google, punch in "site:ft86club.com/forums whatIWantToSearchFor" Replace whatIWantToSearchFor with...for example.... Ace Header, and you're now wildly self sufficient.

I also realize I cut up your Invidia idea pretty bad in that post, not intentional! My forester is running Invidia products from the header back. They are good quality for the money, and I think the Q300 is an awesome CBE for these cars for the money, and would likely fit your intended goals pretty well.

In my humble opinion, your original idea is pretty good. I think the only thing I'd do is ditch the intake and use that money for a front pipe. If you are doing the work yourself you might as well remove the over pipe along with the headers, as the over pipe is a huge bitch to remove. The only thing is going with invidia and the n1 catback will make your car stupid loud
