I see at least a couple on a daily basis and it doesn't effect me negatively in any way. If anything, I'm glad that other people are enjoying it. Just because it's not rare, doesn't mean it's not special. The fact that no other vehicle in the new-car market drives or feels like it is what makes it special. The steering, the seating position, the handling, etc.

Exclusivity doesn't mean anything; it doesn't make a car drive any better or worse. And I think it's silly to care or be concerned with what other people think of your car.

As someone said above, more sales and production of this car is a good thing to keep it alive and for us to enjoy. And hopefully, it'll encourage other manufacturers to make similar cars - basic, lightweight, RWD, and available with a manual transmission.

It's a 25k car. It's not exclusive.

I like how it drives and if more people get to enjoy it too, what's the problem? I changed lights, wheels and exhaust, so I don't look like any other on the street here. (I've seen one or two with modded lights) That's where I get the "I have an exclusive car" feel and don't feel bad when others have the same car.

My neighbor literally bought an FR-S the year after I got mine in the same color, that made me wonder why anyone would do that... Pick a different color!

Guess your right. But in my opinion I feel like this car looks a lot more expensive than it is, but then again that's probably just in my head because I like this car so much.

Well @dinfern22 maybe you just live in a hotbed of 86s then. Even after almost 6 years of sales, I still only see maybe one or two others a week, and its usually the same ones that happen to have the same commute patterns as me. I would say its probably only a couple of times a month I spot one I haven't seen before.

As far as expensive making it unique, I don't think so. How many $80K trucks or SUVs do you see every day? Heck, I see more Corvettes than I do 86s on a regular basis.

I felt like I saw them all the time before I bought mine, so I guess I was expecting it. I do know what you mean though, when I had my Z06 I didn't like seeing other ones...although I liked seeing base models, lol.

I enjoy seeing other Twins - we've got great looking cars.

I even saw a new 2017 86 on the street yesterday and thought that looked good. Helped I only saw it from behind though Haha just kidding, all you new 86 owners.

Couple times a month?!

Just yesterday I saw two twins on my way to college...and another four parked on the lot. But I usually see two-three different ones daily. Im guessing your right about the twins being more common here.

The total number of FRS/86/BRZ in the USA is about 80,000
The great American "sports car":
The total number of Mustangs for the same period is 453,748. The annual production of Mustangs is greater than the total number Twins in the USA. If you extend the Mustangs production back to 2006 (being reasonable they are still on the road) then you add another 603,184 for a total of well over a million of the things.

Since the Corolla was mentioned:
Same period 1,593,105 (yes over a million and a half since 2012). Taking them back to what could still be on the road adds 1,913,000. This gives a total of 3.5 MILLION.

There are 263 million registered cars in the USA.

The Twins are .03% of the registered cars in the USA and I think that makes them pretty bloody exclusive even if some people in some areas see 100 a day.

Ah ha there it is! I can go months in my end of town and never see another. I can drive 1/2 an hour to the other side where all the colleges are and trip over the things. You just need to get around more and you will find there are not as many as you think. Your perception is skewed due to your location.
I spent a week driving around Atlanta and never saw a one. Took a road trip from Detroit to Atlantic City and back and not a single sighting.

Just because it is cheap doesn't mean they make a ton. It is a niche car.

I'm sure you do see a few on a college campus. Its almost tailor made for people in that stage of their life.

In comparison there were 154,586 Corvettes made since 2012. Almost double the number of Twins. I doubt you see 4 a day driving around most colleges.
The Twins get DRIVEN and so you actually see them.

I'd argue that you wouldn't see corvettes around a college that much, since that isn't exactly the target demographic. I see more corvettes around the workplace than twins though!
