Well thanks to you it looks like our next trip is to Reno. She has already been checking prices.
Mind you I think she is also plotting with Mrs. Ultra on how they are going to come here to visit so I doubt I will have a hard time convincing her to go back there sometime. When she calculated trip expenses against winnings (hers not mine) there was about a $200 profit so it is certainly cheap enough to do again.

Not only did we make a wrong turn in the parking lot we did it in front of 7 other club members. Ultra will hear about it as long as he hangs out with them.

Totally forgot that my truck's remote start doesn't like the cold weather. Was like -7 this morning and when I got into my truck and put the key in, all sounds from the truck didn't work.

So, I had no door chime, seatbelt chime, turn signal click or radio. Guess I'll have to remember that the next time I go to the dealership.

I do not miss eating IMPs at all. I think it's thanks to the breakfast ones that I can no longer have breakfast sausage.

That's like my buddy's snow blower it doesn't tend to start below 5 degrees. Totally defeats the purpose.

Oh dud. The IMPS after 1978 are pure luxury compared to the ones prior to then. Nowhere near MRE quality but better.

Not doubting that at all. Also managed to find a few favourites in that time. The Hungarian Goulash was absolutely stellar,but they stopped sending those shortly after my SQ course was finished. The ravioli was also pretty good. I did prefer the IMPs to most of the haybox meals we got in the field on weekend ex's. Pretty much unless it was a brigade ex, we never got to have them. Though, after 4 or 5 days of eating IMPs, there was nothing like seeing your BSM (with a greener than green OCDT or 2LT) walking up to your gun with a carton of smokes in his hand, and the young officer carrying a backpack full of Chef Boyardee or Campbell's Chunky soup.

As long as it wasn't the patrol pack (or snack pack, or whatever). Jerky or pepperettes and a bunch of sugary candy stuff. On my PLQ, we lived off of those for 2 or 3 days for part of our defensive ex and it was terrible.

The truck starts fine, but it's weird that no sound comes out of anything that should make sound.
