I was thrilled to discover they still had their Hiller Rotorcycle. I learned even more about Stanley Hiller. Fascinating guy.

RANT:

Medicare! .........

OK, so it's the time of year for "open enrollment".

I have paid into medicare for almost 50 years.

Now, why do I have to "enroll" .....????

OK, so I have to sign up .......

Now, the government splits it up into five basic parts (A,B,C,D) plus medigap (what the hell ever that is).

Oh yes, then they thrown the "donut hole" to make it even more confusing.

Enter several major companies (at least 8) that want to sell you "parts" of the various coverages.

Each of the companies have several "plans" and combinations of plans ...... that all cost money!

Now, 4 parts x 8 companies x 12 plans per company = 384 combinations X two of us = 768 combinations. NOT counting compounding by medigap options and the rolling donut holes.

Again, WHY do I have to pay more ........ I've already paid in for almost 50 years .......

Screw it ......... I'm gonna just take a nap ........ I have another week to figure it out ........

END OF RANT

I think the idea is to keep retired people busy trying to figure it out. I mean, what else were you going to do this week?

Well he started out the week by trying to kill us both with a parking garage pillar.

Yes. It was originally the mechanical brakes. When they added hydraulic brakes later they sometimes left the handles. I read that the guys with the new brakes would grab the unhooked handles going into a turn so the people behind them would think they were braking and slow down.
