And comparing the endpoints of those three cracks before and after your infield excursion ( ), it doesn't look like they moved at all. I'd guess that your chassis was under FAR more stress as it bounced across the lawn than stresses seen from increased engine output, so even less likely that OP's crack was the result of chassis flex. I've had a brand new windshield crack just days after installation (different vehicle); upon examination at the glass shop, it was determined it was simple installation error.

I had my windshield crack a few weeks after I purchased the 86 new from the dealer. The origination point of the crack was at the bottom right corner. To look at it you would have thought it was not possible for a stone to hit the screen at that location. It's not, I heard the stone or what ever it was hit the screen.

Later that day when the sun went down the small chip in the corner turned into a full blow crack across the screen.

D@m the car was 3 weeks old.

It's the windshield. The chassis on this car is incredibly rigid.
