My BRZ is 2625.

My FRS was 2590 and it didn't have the AP brakes and only 1 race seat, unlike my BRZ (which has them).

I believe 2600ish, give or take at between a quarter and half gallon of gas. Seats are the only real reduction I don't have, and there are a few pounds added here or there (hood struts, etc.) I thought I took a picture but I can't find one, so this is a memory game. TC105n, AP Sprint, Shorai battery, Nameless header, 3" JDL header back, RCE T3.

edit: forgot to say, I have the limited, so heated seats and all that.

fuck I forgot brakes for the weight reduction, I knew there was something major that'd get an FR-S solidly under 2,600 without being too complicated.

AP Racing sprint is ~20 lbs lighter than stock apparently

Yea, my FRS would have been right near 2545 with all the mods my BRZ has. Although, I've learned the last couple years that the weight doesn't make a big difference when we're taking 20-30lbs. At least, for my skill level 🤣

It's nice to know the big things you can do to drop weight, on this car it's brakes, exhaust, seats, and battery, I don't think anything else is worth more than a few lbs here and there, which adds up, but like you said, where we're at there's better things to focus on.

Honestly the only reason I want an exhaust is so a floor jack can get under the diff easily. But I'm waiting to see how the header sounds in person before I open up the exhaust, I want my car to be quiet.

My 13 BRZ that I built in 2012 weighed 2,560 in STX trim.

My stx frs is right around 2,600 right now.

Both cars in race trim/fuel

Will i be too far down power wise with an OFT and OFH or is it required to be nationally competitive with dyno tune and ace/nameless? after seeing the weights listed above, i was trying to decide to spend toward lighter things or toward power. i already have an OFT, but they sell easily if i need to do the full tune and $$$ header. right now i weigh 2828 with me (195lbs) and a 1/4 tank of fuel ready to race

I don't think so. My FRS (with OFT/dyno tuned) made almost exactly the same power as my BRZ (with ECUtek/e-street tuned). Same bolt-ons...

You do have some weight to lose though, anywhere in the 2600# range is probably fine. EDIT: I just realized you said with you in it...so you are fine IMO on weight.

One thing I like about STX is even a moderately prepped twin can be very competitive, I don't think a top tier build is required to win. It still mostly comes down to the driver.
