I am a bit of a blow hard purist, the 2 series would be attractive if they lost about 700 pounds. I opted for the C5Z over the C6Z because I couldn't understand how the C6Z frame weighed 400lbs less than the C5 frame, yet the C6Z weighed 150lbs more than the C5Z = 550lbs of shit I don't need. Plus I hated the composite headlights on the C6. The Z06 was more than I could use, I have no desire to go all out on the BRZ, I just want to get it to the point where I feel like I am not wanting for more every time I hustle it.

My wife. She wanted me to have a new car so I wasn't spending so much time working on older cars. Meh.

Well, a purist wouldn't look at maybe getting FI wouldn't you agree? I think like a purist(I hope), and I could never see myself getting FI, the only things I would ever do wouldn't harm the intended handling of the car and engine response.

I don't think this car needs more power, you could simply get a placebo affect by having more torque, but of course you typically get both when doing certain mods. Torque to me is what makes cars feel faster, and FI will give delayed torque, which I'm not that fond of.

Oh and a tune might be good. Wheels, tires, brakes and tune imo for early build, maybe I'm too much of a purist? Oh and maybe a better drop-in air filter, apparently all pre 17's are suck

You are right, the idea of a turbo pains me on this car. I am hoping that being fully bolted and as light as possible (AL flywheel, pulleys, CF driveshaft, wheels, BBK, etc) will get me where I need to be. I will stick to OTS tunes until I am done either way. I see my mod path ending in either lower gears, a turbo, or a NO2 setup. My car is an outlet for me, and while I would prefer to not go the FI route, I will if that is the only way I can get my fix. FI would definitely go against my purist instinct...but it is better option than hookers and blow.

Nope, we've had em since the beginning, they might have made them standard on the Premium as well now though.
