Very neat installation mrg666. What's that gold-looking thing under the oil filter? Whatever it is when you change the filter you will not need to lean down so far but what I'd like is for the oil filler to be raised. Being lazy the other day I tried to pour oil in without a funnel. Never again.

It's an oil cooler.

It is the STI liquid-to-liquid oil cooler. It is more like a temperature regulator; heats up the engine oil quicker and keeps the oil temperature close to coolant temperature. It is not as effective in cooling as some of the liquid-to-air coolers out there. But it is cheaper and easier to install.

I like your lighted Scion emblem. Is there a red color of it? I would appreciate if you can give a link to where you bought it and comment on the quality.

They don't seem that expensive: https://www.racerpartswholesale.com/...erKits#reviews.
Do you mean cheaper than the $1000 ones out there that come with cool stickers to show everybody you bought a high end name brand one?

YES!

Next time I plan to take the bumper off, I should plan ahead to get one of those. I hate taking that bumper off

added the Subaru trunk lid trim tonight. Pretty overpriced but I have been wanting it. the trunk seems to close with a more solid thunk.

I did the same thing. Creates a better sound seal for the trunk. Silly that Toyota/Scion didn't include it stock.

It's a neat feature but I was told by someone at Toyota that if it ever failed it could not be replaced. Also lights up on the nose (as my avatar shows).

Include it as standard and allow the speed/weight freaks to remove it.

Compared to some of the mods people perform (back seat delete comes to mind) this one would be rather basic. Please don't tell me it would impact 0-60 numbers, I will fall about laughing.
