This is uncanny. I literally just read that term in here and cringed at how retarded it sounds when people use it. I thought to myself that it's not really worth to make a whole post about it and complain. The I kind of tried to purge the word out of my mind.

An equal proportion of people on German car forums are Germanophiles. The difference is that German culture far more mixed in with ours and vice versa. There's not much mystique there.

Japanese culture and history is fascinating. I can easily see being sucked into the popular portrayal as a way to identify oneself. Punks, Goths, Trekkies, Weeaboos, Creative Anachronists, all just searching for a place to belong. I'm ok with all that as long as long as nobody get's hurt.

Also, there are preciously few Germanophiles here in Norway. We call them "néonazis" and they are more into marching than driving.
