![]() Made a batch of hotsauce last night. Here's a recipe if anyone is interested. 12 habaneros halved lengthwise, chopped large white onion, chopped yellow bell pepper, chopped orange bell pepper, 1 cup chopped carrots, handfull of whole garlic cloves. Add all of this to a large pan (I used a wok), cook till soft. Add to a blender with about a cup of white vinegar, a cup of water, I added a small container of coleman's mustard and seasoned with salt + pepper to taste. Blend till smooth as possible, put back in pan and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Add to container and enjoy. |

I basically just use the habaneros, garlic, yellow/brown onion and the vinegar/water. I'll have to give this a shot even though it looks like more work...

I want to say it took like an hour maybe a little less from busting the ingredients out to putting the filled jars away. The bell peppers and carrots add some sweetness to balance the sauce out and also give it the vibrant color. I've used fruits (usually mangos, peaches or pears) in the past but I don't like using fruity sauce all the time. This one is a good "every day sauce"

Is this really what the forum has come to? Some things I don't want to know...

So, are you clean or dirty? Somebody should start a thread like that and see how well it goes.
