2017 BRZ and Ace Laguna 90 exhaust: how to relocate reverse lights
Hey guys. Long time lurker first time poster.
I have a 2017 BRZ and I am looking at the Ace Laguna 90 exhaust. This is the one that is routed through the factory low mount reverse light/brake light. Photo from their website: ![]() My car gets driven on public roads so I would like to still have reverse lights for legal and safety reasons. Is there any kit that allows relocation of the reverse lights for the 2017 BRZ? The diode dynamics kit that would do so for 2013-2016 models is not compatible from 2017 forward because of the redesign of the tail lights. |

The easiest route would be to PM them to see what they are doing or if they plan to make a kit, then depending on their response either wait or consider a different cat back.

Here's a quick thought... get those exhaust hole covers from FT86 speedfactory like these:

I wonder how hard it might be to cut out bumper above stock rear light cluster mounting place and put it there? I'd install it upside down though for less clearance to exhaust needed and for looks (imho it should look well with center triangle of lights forming romb with center triangle of exhaust in original light mounting place). And probably would think of some extra heat insulation to exhaust tip.

I've thought of getting some slim bar LED units and mounting them where the license plate lights are but haven't looked much into it...

My conclusion was the same as imnotsureaboutbrz with the exhaust cutout inserts. Several companies make LED backup lights (Rigid industries makes a nice small pair). You can even buy adapters so that you can plug the connectors into the stock light sockets. Then it's reversible if you ever need to go back. |

Williampreza: hmm, looking vid in this thread, (around 9:15), got impression that crash beam goes where body-color painted upper bumper part is, and it seems to me, there should be space between it and original light cluster mounting place, in unpainted black "insert" part.

I agree with cutting a rectangle in the bumper.
Then install the rocket bunny reverse light. https://www.vividracing.com/catalog/...SABEgLWsvD_BwE |

Thanks everybody for all the helpful responses.
Something I've just now thought of is that I could probably pick up some old style tails from ebay or otherwise and retrofit them and use the diode dynamics kit. I do think that maybe using the rocketbunny reverse light is the most appealing from an aesthetics point of view. I will have to think on this further. |

I have the full ace setup and love it. That rocket bunny light seems to be the best solution. If you're interested in how the 100 and 90 sound here's a video I made comparing them.
