Insider on that forum has contradicted MT. Said it will be around $50k-$60k, just north of 3,000lbs, 8 speed auto & DCT, BMW I6, and looking at mid 300hp. His guess would be +/-380hp, but nothing is set in stone yet.

If a hybrid variant is offered maybe they decided to use a different transmission to better match the powerplant?

The 'insider' and Motortrend both seem to think the Supra will have 2 different automatic transmissions. I'd wager they are at least right with that part. We'll know in a couple weeks though I guess.

The "insider" may just read Motortrend then. I am always very skeptical about "insider" info. Those that really know will not talk. Those that talk rarely really know. Sometimes the "insider" guesses right and they look like a hero but they gloss over the vast majority of the wrong info they provide so they don't look like a fool.

College kids really do love those Scions--especially the tC. It's coupe styling, promotion of personalization, Toyota reliability and generation-Y marketing schemes have led many young people to go out and buy one of their own.

For those of us with passion, it was ignored because of its front-wheel-drive layout.

Not so long ago, Toyota was making promises of a sub-$25,000 rear-wheel-drive coupe that would look an awful lot like its gorgeous FT-86 concept car. They have decided that the part of the company that could use a rear-wheel-drive sales boost the most would be Scion.

Power is expected to come from a 2.0-liter boxer engine that should make around 200 horsepower. If it remains affordable, this new car could become the basis for another wave of personalization for performance.

I think it really depends on where the information is coming from. If an 'insider' is consistently right about certain things I don't think it's a stretch to think they might be right about something else.

I would have never waited to buy my Monogram if I hadn't heard rumors of it's existence months before it came out.

Not that I necessarily believe it, but the LC 500 has a *giggle* 4-spd auto for its hybrid version. Maybe it is dependent on the type of propulsion?

So you are in some alternate universe where sequentials and DCTs that have to be manually shifted otherwise they stay in one gear are called 'automatic'. Got it. I must have missed that wormhole. I've included a reference to our definition here in the Milky Way Galaxy.
