BIG UPDATE!

The new riser covers came, and they fit perfectly with the inner structure. Attached them to the car and it's extremely solid. Also, SUPER FLUSH with the trunk! No gaps or anything. I'm so happy . Below are images and videos.

Solved these issues:
  • Front of the risers no longer come up when the trunk is slammed and the green clip stays connected.
  • Wing no longer vibrates during driving
  • Reduced the amount of vibration when slamming the wing

Oustanding issue:[LIST][*]Wing still wobbles slightly when slamming the trunk - Not sure if I should invest the time to make a middle riser given than this might be enough. What do you guys think? This riser cover is also made of not very strong material. The production one will be so that could have a further impact on the wobble.

Get ready these baby's are almost done!!

SPOILER FLUSH VIDEO

RISERS NO LIFT VIDEO

SMALL SLAM TEST

@johan what do you think of the wobble here?

TRUNK SLAM HARD

Also, If I don't have a middle riser, there are dimples in the trunk that will show. Here's what it looks like with the clear vinyl removed.

The wobble is almost non-existant now imo. I think it's a total non-issue.

You mentioned that there is a stud or something in the spoiler that you can't remove where the middle support was? It can't be threaded out? - like with a double nut or something? If not, how did Subaru get it inside the wing in the first place...

Awesome. I stripped the nut trying to remove it. I’m gonna get some vice grips and try again. If it was assembled it could be disassembled

Next step is to order the outer shells in the stronger production material.

Not sure if this has been covered in previous posts, but how do you plan to address the hole left by the center mounting point?

You're referring to those two dimples right? Haven't discussed it in previous posts. I was chatting with @tehShirt and was thinking to either make some sort of badge like a rectangular small piece that covers it saying BRZ or something, or just make a rectangular piece that is paint matched and placed on top of it.

Do you have any ideas of what you'd do with that?

The dimples are surrounded by a 40mm x 28mm clear bra. In the pic above I removed it but without it being removed it looks odd sitting on the trunk. My current plan is a paint matched piece that covers the clear bra. For people who don’t want the centerpiece it’ll be covered.

The center wing stabilizers are something I’m going back and forth about. You don’t need them as the wing doesn’t wobble while driving, and only wobbles if you slam the trunk with your hand on the trunk.. But before I invest more $ I need to see if there’s enough interest in the project at all.

Just received pics of the risers straight out of the 3D SLA printer. Manufactured in Guangdong China. You can see how high quality the print is. Super smooth surface! These have not been sanded or treated in any way post printing.

These cost a lot given the super short quantity, but with a large scale order I can get these down to an appealing price point.

Thanks dude! I found a great supplier through Alibaba. However the same quality print can come out of any good quality SLA 3D printer.
