It was a different era but the way I drove between the ages of 14 and 20 should have put me in a grave. It sounds hypocrtical but I despise street racing in crowded streets but taking some bends on a secluded backroad is not the same. There is still risk but it is greatly reduced. I highly doubt that everybody here learned their performance driving skills on a track. If that was the case there would be tracks everyplace not just a handful scattered around.

It's a matter of borrowing from a bag of luck to fill the bag of experience.

The OP probably needs to make a few more mistakes himself to appreciate that things don't always turn out as expected.

Just hope his luck holds long enough.

Yep, some of us learned "how to drive" on dirt/gravel roads ....... it kind of took away the fun, when they paved over them ......
