Yep I would go for a ride in that in a heartbeat.

Imagine my suprise when I flew into London yesterday, looked out the window as the Dash 8 was landing and a Mig 17 followed by a Saber flew past. I Thought I had gone into the Twilight Zone and ended up in Korea in 1950.

Dunno what it is, but helicopters scare the heck out of me.

I imagine it's from the helicopter rides I got while in the army. Nothing quite like going 100-120 knots while turning and only being able to see the water that's 20-30 feet below you and praying that you don't drop your rifle into it.

Haha... I've been doing that shit since I was 4. Well, not with a rifle.

It just ain't for me. I'm not big on flying to begin with, but at least on a Dash 8 or an A320, I can have a few adult beverages and fall asleep.

I can only try to imagine what it would feel like to fly in an open cockpit for the first time as an adult. For me it's a glorious feeling filled with childhood memories of skimming treetops in the Cub with the cockpit doors open. It's literally the only time that flying doesn't bore me to tears.

Since my main job in the Army was fuelling aircraft and I can be persuasive I have managed to get a ride in about 10 different types of helicopters.
One of my favourites was when in Germany and we were doing Tactical Air Movement training with the Germans. They would come in and pick up a truck and fly around over the artillery range with it then put it back on the field. After a few hours I managed to talk my way onto the last run of the day (breaking all sorts of regulations no doubt) got geared up and off we went. We picked up an old retired duece and headed out over the range. When there the Loadmaster looks at me with a big grin and says "go to the window and look". I do as I am told and about 20 seconds later he hits the emerancy release on the slings. The truck falls about 5,000 feet and disintegrates on the range. It was to train the pilot how to deal with the sudden loss of the load. Oviously he did ok since I am still around.

My "trailer" is 50' long 14' wide with 3 bedrooms and a normal shingled roof. The only thing that makes it a trailer is there are wheels. I usually refer to it as the cottage because it is a more accurate description.

I kinda knew it was your cabin. My mom & stepdad built a neat one starting with a double-wide on a permanent foundation in the mountains south of Sandia. By the time the deck and covered porch were complete you could hardly tell it was a trailer.
