Why would you mod a car with no engine?

Fair. I just guess I personally don't consider 21/27 "good". "Okay" at best, but if I wanted "good" and still fun, I'd be back in a GTI.

How about the 32 that I get? Driving conditions mean everything.

I ran the version 1 Rocket Bunny kit with 10" wheels for probably a year before I went more power.

Sounds like you've never had a thirsty car. Lots of people have owned cars that could never get >20 mpg in even the most generous conditions.

To me anything that's consistently in the 20's on the street is 'good' or at the very least 'not bad'.

Yes but in your case there was at least a plan to use the RB kit for the purpose in which it was designed. It is cars like yours that the pretenders want to look like but don't want to put in the cash or the work to have the real thing.

Most six speed ls cars get similar highway mileage if they're manuals

Yeah as I've said before I don't mind the power the car puts out I would however like more grip I like drive it hard in the canyons and I find myself sliding from time to time and I love the mpg I averaged 34mpg on the way home yesterday and I don't want to build power that why in building my 72 Chevy c10 short bed and I want something that looks good and I can drive to work or on a road trip without worrying if something will brake

Yeah, they do - I should also shift past 3rd gear at some point.

True. Everything is definitely relative. The thirstiest car I've owned is a WRX, so I suppose I can't really compare.

My worst was about 12 mpg on two carbs and about 8 when you kicked in the 3rd.

So is your car a 426 or 440 car?
