Well, I reckon ol @Ultramaroon is busy at work, so, I'll try to explain.

First off, that thing is self lubricating. No, I do not know what keeps it from leaking ...... although, I've often wondered that ......

I do know that if you push certain buttons, the lubrication will usually start to flow. However, when it gets old, it may need some external lubrication.

You can tell if it's dry when it starts to groan or squeal when activated.

You could get a new one, but it will get old and dry out too.

What to do ........

Interesting. In terms of clutch usage, it makes sense that your 100K highway miles corresponds with my 25K stop & go.
Yep.
So far the noise is just the light brushing sound so I am pretty sure it is just the fork lube finally drying out. Not in a panic but will get her lubed up and all slippery again and see if she stops moaning in the morning.

I can't afford a new one since I would still have to keep paying on the old one.

(I'm jest ah messen wish ya)

You might ask the dealer if he can do anything for you under the warranty.

If not, I suggest you just glue it down ...... and two weeks from now, you won't remember it was even there .....

That's how the rest of my car interior acquired rips.

I was going to bring it up to them next time I was there. It's on the top of the wheel, just not wanting it to get any larger.

So I recently bought a 2017 BRZ Limited about 2 weeks ago. This is my first manual car and I'm afraid I might burn out the clutch or ruin the TOB prematurely. Is this clutch under warranty? The salesperson said it's a wearable item and it's not covered. On the other hand, I've heard people say that it's covered for 3yr/36k miles?? I'm not sure.
Also, there's a small rip on my steering wheel. It's not that big of a deal but it still bothers me from time to time. I'm 90% sure it was there from the factory. Would that also be covered if I choose to get it replaced? Thanks
Hey first if the rip on the wheel bothers you bring it up and get it replaced, trust me it won't bother you less down the road.

If it makes you feel better I'm doing my clutch and tob at 70k I could probably last to 80k or possibly longer but I like to get it fixed right away. It's going to cost me about $560 for a full clutch and tob replacement. Maybe a little more if I decide to get a new flywheel also so in all not an insanely expensive repair. I'm also not that easy on my clutch or the best clutch operator in the world. I'd say make sure your trying to follow best practices for driving clutch and you'll be fine. If your more handy than me you can do your own clutch job for even cheaper. Dealership won't cover your clutch is most cases.
