You won't get a feel for the car in a week driving it, unless you planned on destroying someones car driving it recklessly on normal roads, it doesn't really drive any different than anything else going from point a to b, it's only when you start to push the car does it give you more feedback.

I think seeing what the car can do in videos/reviews and even in person perhaps not driven by yourself should be enough to know if you want the car, and if you ever want to drive it to the potential/limit that has been talked about for a while now.

Borrowing someones car is just dumb.

I knew I wanted the damn thing the second I sat down it in the show room. The test drive was just sort of the icing on the cake.

My point exactly. I have been waiting for this car for over 6 years.

I still have a damn SCION brochure for the FRS before it was even released, and it has all the Five:AD body kits and stuff in it, I lost it though.

ima find it and frame it.

I respect your opinion, but I do not agree with it

We're talking about something subjective, so what you feel may be very different from what others may feel. Same goes for the idea of borrowing someone's car, that's subjective so though you may find it foolish others may not. But hey, different strokes for different folks!

That was quite a good laugh indeed. I refuse to post on that guy's threads but I've been getting my fill of popcorn reading it all.

Would you let a random stranger you met on the internet borrow your car for an entire week? I mean, that sounds like a common sense issue right there.

I also doubt many people buy niche cars (86/frs/brz) then wonder if they should've bought a camry. I challenge you to go into any subaru/toyota dealership, show interest in the 86/brz or even an sti, then talk to a sales rep and see what they say about people who come in looking for those cars. They aren't on the fence about wanting them, they know they want them, the only thing they are on the fence about is if they can afford them.

You coming here asking to borrow someones car for a week because you aren't sure about the car, means you just don't want the car. By all means, prove me wrong and go and buy one, but surely you can't be so blind and see that what you're asking is like walking backwards-upwards on a down escalator.

I didn't even get that far. This is what I saw when I got off the bus that took the First86 group from the hotel to Scion HQ in Long Beach back in the day. I was pretty much all in at that point.

Ya but you were headed to see the car. I didn't even know the bloody thing even existed until about 30 seconds before I sat in it.

That's what happened to me with my '85 MR2. I was at the dealership to buy a pickup, saw the MR2 on the car carrier and already had a test drive set up before it was even off the truck. It was love at first sight.

Never did get that truck.

Same here, this is the first one I ever saw (Love at first sight). Tried real hard to convince myself of all the reasons I shouldn't buy this car....and I succeeded. Bought the SSM BRZ instead!
